Battery-Integrated Appliances | January 2022 - June 2022

Prototyped hardware and software for a battery-integrated appliances project funded by The Department of Energy to help bolster the value of distributed renewable energy and storage. Coded software in python on Raspberry Pi working with various integrated circuits, and current and voltage sensors to control battery storage based on appliance demand and to take advantage of time-of-use rates.


Helped Gather and synthesize energy modeling data to determine battery capacity for a variety of kitchen appliances like induction stove ranges, and refrigerators using tools like Excel, Grafana, and Jypter notebook. Performed CAD for electronics enclosures using Solidworks, fabricated lithium-ion battery packs and configured BMSs using processes like waterjet, sheet metal bending, soldering, spot welding, and 3D printing.
