Electric Coffee Grinder | Summer 2020

I modified a coffee grinder to dose coffee grounds by weight with the added feature of adjusting grind size using a worm gear system. I modeled the assembly in AutoDesk Fusion 360, transcribing physical parts of the grinder into CAD using calipers and an inkjet printer scanner. For example, I re-created a threaded adjustment dial and added a helical gear profile around the outer diameter. Achieved by a loadcell coupled with Arduino and DC motor, the machine accurately grinds to the desired amount.
